Week of January 30th - February 3rd

Hello! Here's the plan for this week...

Monday, January 30th: Last week I asked you to take copies of the 1st unit, but I didn't receive the book until today, so SORRY! I'll give it to you today. So, today we're going to start the unit without the copies. We´ll check the 3 unit goals, brainstorm daily activities you do, and make a paragraph with them. If there is time, we'll see the vocabulary words the text has and we'll play a game. For HOMEWORK, you'll make a smalll story with a pictionary included for Thursday. I'll explain in class. But, for TOMORROW, you need to study them for dictation. Please take coopies of the unit.

Tuesday, January 31st: Now that you have the copies, we'll review the Grammar section, page 68, about the simple present tense. We'll check the end pronunciation of the verbs ending in "s" or "es", ex C, and do ex D on page 69 for a grade.
Wednesday, February 1st: Today, we'll read the conversation on page 69, ex E, and you'll role play the conversation. We'll make an exercise on the board with this conversation. For HOMEWORK, you'll do Lesson 1 in the Workbook.

Thursday, February 2nd: Finally, we'll go to the LAB! We'll check what you have done and I'm going to assign the exercises you'll work on. REMEMBER, you'll have a quiz with the exercises you practiced in the lab.

Friday, February 3rd: We'll start Llesson 2 of Unit 8, page 70. We'll talk about household chores and leisure activities, ex A-vocabulary. You'll do the Listening Comprehension, ex B and we're going to talk about time expressions. We'll also discuss the unit project.

Well, have a very nice week. And, have fun this 3-day weekend!!!

Week of January 23rd to 27th

Hello, students. Welcome to English Level 2.

Last semester, we started introducing and talking about ourselves. We spent about 80 hours working together, so we know each other pretty well. I think we will have new students, so we need to welcome them to our group and make them feel comfortable. I know you are a friendly bunch!! This is what we are going to do this week...

Monday, January 23rd: Well, we aren't going to be in the English Department this first week. Have you seen it? They're fixing the floors! So, we'll be in your homeroom, G6. We'll introduce ourselves to the new students and they are going to do the same. Then, you'll talk about one of your classmates, and for homework, make a video about them and upload it in your blogs for Friday.

Tuesday, January 24th: Maybe we need more time today to finish what was started yesterday. After we finish, we'll review the social and academic contracts we did last semester and explain them to your new classmates. We'll talk about the things you want or don't want to happen in class, make some changes (if necessary) for our class, discuss how you learned best, share opinions, etc.

Wednesday, January 25th: Today, we will have a diagnostic test to see what you remember from last semester. We need to review some things so you can start Level 2.

Thursday, January 26th: Lab Day. You'll check what you did last semester and continue with your lab exercises.

Friday, January 27th: You'll need your new books so we can start Unit 8, so please buy them as soon as possible. Today we'll see the unit goals and talk about daily activities.

Well, have a great first week of school and enjoy your weekend.

Welcome back.
